My name is Kristin Barrie. I was born in Columbus and have lived here all my life. I work at Tj Maxx and Plato's closet. I'm majoring in Fashon Merchandizing and one day hope to be a corporate buyer for Tj Maxx. I love shopping, being with my friends, and taking naps. I'm excited to be at OSU!

My favorite quote from the book was "There's a great deal of this automatic and insightful kindness in the hearts of many of these children who have been acquainted with unusual degrees of loss and sorrow by the time they're eight or nine years old. They show it with their eyes and with their words, and rapid touches of their hands, and, when it's absolutely needed, with their arms wrapped tight around each other. They're good at being silly, but they're also good at being gentle."

I really liked this passage because it tells a lot about the personalities of the children there. It's inspiring that they have such kindness in their hearts after everything they've gone through. I think if I were in their place I'd be full of nothing but sorrow. It's important because it tells us about how the children interact with one another, with kindness.
